It is what it is

One of my teacher told me his interesting experience today.

After a few years he became professional illustrator, his right hand thumb was almost cut off by accident. (He is the right hand user. As an illustrator, a finger is extremely important) He went to a hospital and was waiting to get surgery for 6 hours. During the 6 hours, he thought about many things like: Is my thumb going to come back? Am I able to draw?...I won't be able to draw again...

During his waiting, he talked to a nurse. "How's it(=my thumb)?"

and the nurse said " it is what it is"

Yuki : oh how simple the nurse is, i somehow feel better. She has some sort of confidence. 

Frog : Ya~ very practical.
